What ATS X-ray does
It reads your live page the way applicant tracking software does. It walks every text block in the order the software would read them, matches your headings against a dictionary of known section names, extracts the fields a parser fills in, and matches your skills against a {{ skillDbSize }}-term dictionary.
Each check below carries points, and the score is the points you earned over the points available. Tap any row to see how to fix it. Nothing is guessed: every number comes from a measurement of your page.
This is the technical half. It asks whether a machine can read and file your resume, not whether a person will be impressed by it. Recruiter eye answers that, and the two scores are meant to differ.
What an ATS is
An applicant tracking system is the software an employer uses to receive and sort applications. Your file does not go straight to a person. It goes into the ATS, which strips your design away, extracts the plain text, and tries to fill in fields: name, email, phone, employers, dates, education, skills.
A recruiter then searches that database. If a field was extracted wrongly, or your text landed in the wrong order, you can be filtered out of a search before anyone reads your resume. Most large employers use one, and each parses slightly differently, so a layout that reads cleanly as plain text is the safe choice.
Common causes of a bad parse: text inside images, tables or text boxes, headers and footers, two columns read across instead of down, unusual section names, and fonts that do not embed. Everything this report flags is one of those.

What Recruiter eye is
A first pass over a resume is short, often around six seconds, and it is not reading. It skims for anchors: who you are, your most recent title and employer, dates, and anything visually loud. This view models that pass over your live page.
Every block is ranked by how much pull it has: type size and weight, capitals, height on the page, white space around it, which column it sits in, and content signals a person reacts to, such as a figure in a bullet, a strong opening verb, or filler wording.
It is a separate model from ATS X-ray and asks a different question: not whether a machine can read your resume, but whether a person gets the point quickly. A resume can pass one and fail the other, and the reasons for each are listed below.
This is a model of typical skim behaviour, not a recording of a real person. No eye tracking and no camera are involved.
